“It was a bit difficult going in and out of foster care,” she revealed cam amen ahead of his Sunday night American Idol audition. “I only remember being taken out of my classroom by police officers. i hold my brother We didn’t know what was going on. We cried and waited for mom. She never came. We were in foster families for a long time. I left when I was 18 and took my brother and sister in. I knew I had to raise her right and put her through high school.”
Now that Cam’s brother is 21 and sister is 20, the Omaha, Nebraska server is ready to chase his own dreams. He nervously approached the audition stage in front of the judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry And Lionel Richie before belting out Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. Check out Cam’s auditions below.

Immediately after Cam’s performance, Lionel hugged the singer and said, “Welcome home. You’ve been through a lot, but the rest of your life is waiting for you.” As Luke walked back to his seat, he admitted, “I can hardly breathe. This is our sixth year here and your style is so wonderfully unique. I have no one I have seen in that chair to compare you to. Every time I wanted you to do something amazing, you did it. It was just amazing.”

“It sounds like you never got a chance,” Katy told Cam. “It sounds like you have to make sacrifices. You don’t have to hold it anymore, just let it come out.” Lionel added, “For whatever reason, divine guidance brought you to us. And we’re going to have a damn good ride.”
Next, the judges invited Cam’s girlfriend into the room while they presented him with the final platinum ticket of the season. He will now be able to skip round one of Hollywood Week as he continues his American Idol journey.
