Seventeen Ukrainian miners returned home last week after spending six months in the Russian zone. These children had been sent there by their parents for summer camp. The Russians had persuaded the adults that it was safer and away from the bombings. But nothing went as planned and they were held against their parents’ advice. “They told us that our parents had let us down, so I called my mother and she called the manager of the camp afterwards. (…) He answered her: ‘In any case, you will never see each other again .’ “ testifies Vitali, 16 years old.
Vladimir Putin targeted by the International Criminal Court
A Ukrainian association managed to bring back some of the 16,000 Ukrainian children who were deported to Russia. This group of 17 children leaving Kherson was in Crimea annexed by the Russians. Since it was impossible to cross the front to pick them up, a very long journey had to be made via Moscow. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, who is accused of being behind the illegal importation of these children and attempting to “Russify” them.
