While the E3 2023 show has been slow to flesh out the outlines of its event this year, Ubisoft is finally backing down and announcing that it won’t be attending.
Ubisoft announces its conference but will not be present at the E3 show
It’s a bit of a twist here, as last month the publisher said it would be attending the Los Angeles Video Game Fair. It is Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot who confirms this by stating: “If E3 happens, we will be there and we will have a lot to show. »
We were already wondering what was behind this formulation, after the organizers had actually confirmed the holding of the trade fair a few months earlier. But against all odds, the French publisher will ultimately not be taking part in the show, as confirmed by one of its representatives at VGC.
Ubisoft says it’s decided to “go in a different direction,” while confirming its usual conference, Ubisoft Forward, will be held in Los Angeles on June 12.

So here’s one less attendee at this year’s show, which is gradually seeing its attendees disembark. At the moment, no major mid-tier company has announced its presence at the Convention Center. Nintendo won’t be there, and neither will Microsoft. The latter nonetheless confirmed its traditional Xbox conference scheduled for Sunday 11 June.
Officially, the week of E3 2023 is scheduled to start on June 11th with digital events such as the PC Gaming Show, Future Games Show or the Xbox Conference. Physical exhibitions for the press will follow for two days from June 13th to 14th before giving way to the public.
