The Peruvian team got into a scuffle with Spanish National Police agents outside the team’s concentration hotel. Dozens of fans of the Peru team gathered in Madrid on Monday night to support their side, who are playing a friendly against Morocco on Tuesday. The players tried to serve the fans, but some of the agents didn’t recognize the Peruvian stars and a series of shoves began.

“Calm down, calm down, these are players!” a fan yelled at the police as the Peru team tried to respond to the attacks. The chaos scenes started when the player Yoshimar Yotún was repeatedly pushed by the police. In the videos uploaded to the networks, Captain Pedro Gallese can be seen being attacked by a police officer. “We wanted to greet people and they started hitting us,” the Peruvian goalkeeper told América TV. So far, the Spanish police have not decided. Neither does the Peruvian Football Federation. The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the consulate in Madrid helped the entire squad after the incident and did not report any arrest of any of its players.
