One of the stars of hit Netflix show Squid Game filmed the moment he claims he was attacked by a McDonald’s executive and denied service “because he’s American.”
American actor Geoffrey Giuliano – who played cult hero VIP 4 on the series – was returning from a work trip in Lisbon, Portugal, when the December 31 incident happened.
The 69-year-old father of six said he was visiting the McDonald’s branch during a connection at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport when staff allegedly refused to serve him a veggie burger.
It comes after footage of the actor and his son surfaced in 2017 showing what the cameraman claimed Giuliano queued at a supermarket in Thailand before telling him: “I’m American, I do what I want, we do.” are the kings of the world’.
The latest footage shows a male employee seemingly barging into Giuliano, who was actually playing Ronald McDonald on TV, before a second man raised his hand to him.
The actor, who used a wheelchair because of a knee injury sustained during a film stunt, claims he was assaulted during the confrontation and has called on McDonald’s for an apology.
He says he is diabetic and needed groceries at the time, with McDonalds being the only grocery facility available to him.
He told Web that he would take legal action against McDonalds and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, where the incident happened.
He said: “As soon as they saw me, it was practically the end of the day.
“An elderly Indian McDonald’s greeter saw me, politely put me in line and pushed me to the front.
“However, when I started talking to my son Eden, a young manager heard my American accent and suddenly they wouldn’t serve me.
“When they realized we were Americans, they didn’t want to serve me. It was all thanks to an aggressive manager and another employee who obviously didn’t like Americans.”
Giuliano says this isn’t the first time he’s witnessed anti-American discrimination in Holland, and claims it’s worsened since Donald Trump was elected president.

Had said he had another incident with his granddaughter where a woman in a store told him, “Why don’t you go back to America and to Donald Trump?”.
In that incident, as in 2017 in Thailand, Giuliano was with his son Eden, now 15.
He said his “very shy” son was “excited” by the two experiences and no longer wanted to have dinner with his father.
“I had a wheelchair for the return flight. I got up and started filming when the manager and another male employee suddenly became aggressive and started walking towards my son and me.
“If you look closely at the video you can see where he hit me as the camera bumps and I scream ‘this is assault’.

“Regardless of what the staff say, they served people before me and they served people after me, I was the only one not served.
“This is a case of blatant discrimination that has escalated into a physical assault on me at Amsterdam Airport.
“Beating people is not a justifiable way to deal with anything.”
Giuliano explained that he was flying back to his second home in Thailand from a business trip in Lisbon, Portugal, with a connecting flight in Amsterdam.
He visited the fast food joint for a snack and said he got to the front of the queue, with people in front of him and behind him being served, despite staff claims it was closed.
“This is of course all the more ironic when I was Ronald McDonald on TV in North America in the 1980s and I was an undercover vegetarian at the time,” he said.
The operators of the McDonald’s branch did not respond to requests for comment.
However, in a previous email exchange with Giuliano, they claimed that “the restaurant closed at 8 p.m.”

However, video metadata shows the video was taken at 5:54 p.m. and Giuliano’s flight on Dutch airline KLM departed at 8:55 p.m.
The company wrote: “Thank you for your reply informing us of your visit on New Year’s Eve 2022 to one of the McDonald’s restaurants at Schiphol Airport where you and your son were unable to order food during a long stay.
“Please note that on New Year’s Eve the restaurant closes at 20:00. Because you queued at the cash register after 8pm, you were unable to place your order as the restaurant was officially closed.
“The guests in front of you had placed their order before 8 p.m. and were therefore served.
“We have reviewed the footage you sent us and based on this we do not agree that the manager (or other staff) assaulted, humiliated or harassed you.
“The footage clearly shows that they were filmed against their will and without their permission.”
In more dramatic footage starring the actor from 2017, Giuliano was filmed at a Big C supermarket in Pattaya, Thailand, as he appeared to sidestep another customer.
The French expat claims Giuliano then threw about 25 items onto the conveyor belt, which was in the “ten items or fewer” zone.
He began filming Giuliano – even telling him he would share it publicly – who then let out a rant in front of his wife and child.
Giuliano – who wore several press passes with his name on it – said: “You don’t intimidate me with that camera, I’m an actor.”
The Frenchman replied: “I’m just waiting for the next round because what you said about America was very interesting.”
Giuliano, originally from Rochester, New York, then seemed to get even more aggressive when he started swearing and moved toward the filmer.
He claims the cameraman was a member of the paparazzi and followed him to the supermarket.
He said he left the queue in front of him to get bananas and then returned to see the Frenchman, who filmed his wife and then 11-year-old son, crying over the man
“I did what anyone would do and told him to fuck off.”
The video shows Giuliano saying, “Fuck off, OK. Fuck off, OK, let’s get this straight. You can fuck yourself, ok.
“I’m American, I do what I want, we’re the kings of the world, okay.”
“We are professionals. We took it to the highest fucking level in the world.’
The Frenchman said: “I agree with you.”
Giuliano replied: “You agree, so we have an agreement. Mind your own damn business next time.”
A few moments later, Giuliano exits the busy supermarket in South Pattaya district around 6pm yesterday.
Giuliano claims he performed the “ugly American act” to “taunt” the cameraman, who he said developed a dislike for him because he was American.
He said McDonald’s staff didn’t know who he was while the Thai supermarket man filmed it because he knew he was an actor.
