Less than a year after Bruce Willis was revealed to have been diagnosed with aphasia, the actor’s family recently reported that they have now discovered a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia. The protagonist of the film Hard to kill Her career has been on hiatus since April last year to take care of her health.
In an interview with Viva Saúde Digital, neurologist and full member of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology, DR Inara Tais de Almeidaexplains that frontotemporal dementia significantly changes the patient’s behavior and personality.
“This is a group of diseases in which the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain degenerate. When these areas deteriorate, you lose the skills that controlled those parts,” the neurologist clarifies.

“Key symptoms include apathy, loss of empathy, compulsive behavior, change in diet or mouthcentered behavior, and loss of executive function,” adds Dr. inara
