Successor to Mario Cecchini, now the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League commissioner, he is familiar with the Sparrows organization, where he has held various positions since 1996. More recently, he contributed to the arrival of the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL and the Montreal Alliance, in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

“It’s a real privilege for me to find the Montreal Alouettes, a team I love, know and have always followed. I would like to thank Mr Pierre Karl Péladeau [le propriétaire] for trusting me. Our team has a rich heritage to develop and promote. I will work on it with enthusiasm with all colleagues who are already at work, whether they are in our offices or dedicated to the football business under the good guidance of our general manager Danny Maciocia, Weightman said in a press release. There is still a lot to do before the start of the regular season, such as draft and training camp, but I’m sure we are all really looking forward to bringing you your 2023 Alouettes.”

For his part, Mr. Péladeau was pleased to have hired an experienced man with very strong expertise in the sports world.

“We are confident that he will be able to meet the challenges that come our way, working in partnership with everyone at the Montreal Alouettes,” he said. Mark shares the same vision for the team’s long-term future, both in terms of day-to-day management, the return to financial health, and our desire to grow our fan base at the stadium and in Quebec. These are conditions that will allow us to bring Montreal back to the top of Canadian football.”
