Based on the work of Brazilian lawyer, writer and editor Monteiro Lobato, the 2001 remake of Sítio do Picapau Amarelo won a total of seven seasons, shown by Rede Globo between 2001 and 2007.
The production was created by Márcio Trigo and Roberto Talma and won a total of 1159 episodes. The action takes place on the farm of Dona Benta, a grandmother who loves to tell stories to her grandchildren Pedrinho and Narizinho.
Far away from the city, she lives with her faithful companion Tia Nastácia, old uncle Barnabé who runs the farm, Rabicó, the pet pig, and other members like Visconde and Emília.
The place is full of adventures experienced by the adventurer Pedrinho and the dreamer Narizinho. The character was originally played by the former actress Lara Rodrigues. Born in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, she was 32 years old.
In 2011, Lara left the small screen to pursue a career in film production and started her own production company called Malícia. Speaking to Globo’s Patrícia Kogut, Lara said she was analyzing the possibility of a return to acting before the pandemic.

“I started moving in that direction. Acting was always my first choice of career, I never thought of giving up. But I’m glad to have other alternatives. Entrepreneurship in Brazil is not easy, so I had to put in all my efforts for a while. But my plans as an actress were always here, in safekeeping. Now I have to see when I can implement them,” he said.
