Gary Numan’s wife Gemma O’Neill rushed to hospital after her “heart went crazy” while out and about in Scotland

Gary Numan has revealed his wife was hospitalized on Monday after her “heart went crazy”.

The 65-year-old 80’s pop star was in Scotland with his partner Gemma O’Neill, 55, when she suffered the medical emergency.

On Tuesday, he shared a photo of Gemma, a former member of his fan club, in the snow on Twitter.

He wrote: “I had to call an ambulance for Gemma yesterday as her heart was going crazy again. Spent the night in the ER near Stirling, Scotland where various tests were being carried out.

“I don’t have a picture but she wore this outfit, a sharkskin onesie and moon boots (no jacket) and nothing else!!! Unobtrusive as always.”

It’s not the first time Gemma has suffered a health ailment while on holiday.

In 2020, the couple, who married in 1997, recalled the moment her breasts “exploded” during a camping trip.

The couple delighted Good Morning Britain presenters with the story during an appearance on the show and spoke of their home in the States.

“We were on a caravan trip and I just pulled the stitches and I reached out to the kids and it popped!

“It looked like a shark attack and Gary had to hold it together!”

Gemma has been open about her body image and how she’s always wanted to change it.

“I hate the way I look, I always hate it. I had my fat removed when I was 22,” she admitted.

Gary also spoke of his own attempt at cosmetic surgery.

“I haven’t had much, I got my hair done but it’s Gemma who gets it [stuff done]’ he said before adding, ‘You know what she did while we waited [to go on air]?

“She took pictures of her nose because that’s next!”

Gemma was known to be a fan of the singer before they finally met and fell in love.

“I was just a normal fan. My father works at a record company. I met [Gary] when I was younger, when I was maybe 12, and then we would meet at air shows and take pictures together.

“When my mother died in ’92, we started talking properly.”

Gary said: “I used to see her every gig and I would ask her where she had been and she said something had happened to her mother, so we started talking and it was more than just ‘can I have your autograph ? ‘

Gemma famously told her teachers that it didn’t matter if she passed exams because her path in life – arm in arm with her pop idol, a Top Of The Pops regular – was already set. She wrote to Jim’ll Fix It asking if he could fix their wedding.

They have three daughters, Raven, Persia and Echo, who moved from the UK in 2012 and now live in Los Angeles in a house that was built in the ’90s but is modeled on a medieval castle.
