Repentigny Murder: One Suspect Arrested, Another Wanted

A suspect was arrested on Monday and formally charged with the murder of Youcef Khelil, a 21-year-old boy who was shot dead in Repentigny on Saturday.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) announced on Wednesday that it had arrested 21-year-old Raymond Félix Bakodok. The latter appeared at the Joliette courthouse on Tuesday, specifically to face a charge of first degree murder.

At the same time, SQ announced that it was looking for a second suspect, Alexandre Durand-Artile.

The 20-year-old man is described as 1.78 m tall with black hair and brown eyes. At the events, he wore a hooded black puffy coat, black trousers and black Nike sneakers with white soles, police said.

Details of the whereabouts of this second suspect have not been released. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately.

Youcef Khelil was shot dead on rue de Bernières around 4am on Saturday morning.

His death sparked misunderstandings in the neighborhood. According to the “Journal de Montréal”, the young man had no criminal record.
