The Panthers could get close to the lottery tonight

TVA Sports is broadcasting a game Wednesday night that is sure to interest Montreal Canadiens fans. The Florida Panthers visit the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7:30 p.m.

And a defeat for the Panthers would deal them a very hard blow in the playoff race.

Paul Maurice’s roster is three points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins, who hold the final ticket to the Eastern Conference spring tournament.

Needless to say, Bleu-Blanc-Rouge own the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2023 due to the trade defenseman Ben Chiarot was involved in last year.

If the Florida club is eliminated from the playoffs, the CH would bet on two first-round picks eligible for the May 8 draft lottery.

Matthew Tkachuk’s father is not affectionate

Earlier this morning radio station TSN Toronto 1050 did an interview with Keith, the father of Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.

The one who played 120 in the National League really wasn’t nice to his elder’s team.

“It’s a matter of life and death for the Panthers at the moment. They’re a weak side and they have what they deserve at the moment. They should be a lot better than they are,” he said.

“Instead of asking for autographs [aux joueurs des Maple Leafs] Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner they should hit them harder,” added Keith Tkachuk when asked about the game of the night.

Then the father did what no good father should do by comparing the teams of his two boys. The youngest of the Tkachuk family, Brady, is captain of the Ottawa Senators.

“I know I sound like a frustrated person. However, I see Ottawa play a less talented team: them [les Sénateurs] always play hard. Maybe Florida should learn from them.”

It’ll all be a great topic of conversation at the next family dinner…
