Spring with a Latin flair at Walt Disney World

Spring is the perfect time to celebrate nature with culinary delights, catchy beats and lots of Latino flavor!

Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, there will be something for everyone this season. From enjoying the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival to continuing the party at Disney Springs with lively, special musical performances by Hispanic DJs.

The EPCOT theme park is thriving with floral displays, innovative new topiaries like Mirabel, Antonio, Isabela and Luisa from Disney Animation Studios’ film “Encanto,” as well as delectable dining experiences and live Latino entertainment.

Running through July 5, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will feature more Latin rhythms this year thanks to performances by renowned artists who are part of the Garden Rocks concert series at America Gardens Theatre.

This Friday, March 31, immerse yourself in the tropical rhythms of singer-songwriter Luis Figueroa, who makes his debut on the Disney World stages. This year is also the first time that the well-known Colombian group Piso 21 performs at Disney. The performers of “Te Amo”, “Me Llamas” and “Te Vi” among others will take the stage at the Garden Rocks on April 1st and 2nd, Saturday and Sunday. On Monday April 3rd, visitors will have the opportunity to see Puerto Rican artist Melina León returning to the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Alongside music, the popular outdoor kitchens (kioscos) also return to the festival, with several offering dishes inspired by Latin American flavors. Favorites include Caribbean dishes from La Isla Fresca’s open kitchen, nestled between the Moroccan and French pavilions. There you can order a braised oxtail with rice with pigeon peas or a prawn skewer in cane with rice, mango, coconut and lime sauce. For dessert, we recommend the Tres Leche de Coco… a vanilla sponge bathed in oat milk, almond milk and coconut milk with toasted coconut. This traditional Latin American dessert is a great option for vegans. Everything for everybody!

Another must-see on your list should be the Jardín de Fiestas near the Mexican Pavilion. Here’s a delicious squash blossom quesadilla on gluten-free torta masa and a vampire taco…barbacoa beef on a corn tortilla with Monterrey Jack cheese and esquites.

But the Latin flavor and rhythm doesn’t end at EPCOT. The party continues at Disney Springs with a full selection of music that is sure to bring out the best dance moves in anyone as they enjoy tropical music genres such as salsa, bachata, and Latin pop, among others.

Famous DJs from various radio stations will be performing at Disney Springs this weekend and next Monday. On Saturday April 1st, Yus from Ritmo 95.7 will be mixing rhythms and offering different experiences; Z92.3’s Laura García and El Zol Orlando’s DJ Leoni perform on Sunday April 2nd. Ñeco del Zol Tampa will close the event on Monday April 3rd.
