New to Major League Baseball: A Texas burger and a Putin hot dog

The start of the Major League Baseball season this Thursday, March 30 coincides with the promotion of various courts to please fans at various stadiums across North America.

The Texas Rangers organization has hit the bullseye with the launch of the new “Boomstick Burger,” now available at Globe Life Field for $35.

“New Texas-sized treats,” was announced, as the hearty burger combines ground beef, chili, nacho cheese, jalapenos and onion rings in a brioche bun.

In fact, this novelty at Rangers Stadium is a derivative of the two-foot-long hot dog dubbed the “boomstick.” The charming “Roteux” was created in 2012 when the Texan formation was developing in their old stadium.

It is advisable that there are at least three or four of the fans to overcome the “Boomstick Burger”. With a Diet Coke, can you imagine…

Less spectacular, but appetizing, the Rangers also present the “Pizza Dawwg”, a cheerful mix of hot dog and pizza.

Quebecers offended

Earlier this week, the Toronto-based Blue Jays organization announced it would now be serving $10 “Putin Hot Dogs” at the Rogers Centre. It was enough to anger some Quebecers on social media, who accused Torontonians of appropriating and altering their traditional dish. You should also know that the hot dog Putin has been around in certain Quebec snack bars for a long time. In particular, talk about it with the customers of the Cantine de la Gare in Rimouski…

Peanut butter and jelly churros are also available at the Jays’ house for those with a sweet tooth. In Oakland, the cinnamon churro is served with strawberry shortcake sauce instead.

“We can’t wait to get back into the sights, sounds and tastes of baseball,” Alison Birdwell, president and CEO of Aramark Sports + Entertainment, said in a statement. Aramark Sports + Entertainment works with many partners in Major League Baseball, from Toronto to Oakland, through New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Boston, Kansas City, Houston and Pittsburgh.

At Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, potato chips are said to be served with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce. There really will be something for everyone!
