Sharon Stone continues to settle accounts in the public square. After claiming last month that she may have lost “half her fortune” in the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, the 65-year-old actress announced on Tuesday that she paid just $500,000 for his role in the adult thriller Basic Instinct Dollars (released in 1992) when his co-star in the film, Michael Douglas, received a much higher salary.
“Michael Douglas won $14 million [soit l’équivalent de 19 M $ CAN aujourd’hui]said Sharon Stone during a speech during the 43rd annual Muse Awards held in New York on Tuesday night.
“I have to say I’ve only just started. i was new [dans ce milieu] and that he was a big star,” she later nuanced.
The actress then claimed to have been disregarded by one of Basic Instinct’s producers, who adamantly called her “Karen” during filming of the film.
“Even at the Governors Ball (the reception after the Oscars) he kept calling me Karen! That humiliation stayed with me even though my name didn’t appear on the film’s poster.
Sharon Stone is one of nine women to receive a tribute award at Tuesday night’s New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards, an event highlighting the work of women in film and television. Actresses Danielle Brooks and Freida Pinto were also honored.
