On Wednesday, the Laviolette-Saint-Maurice member had not ruled out a lawsuit against the daily Le Nouvelliste. This morning, Marie-Louise Tardif made a point of rectifying the situation in a very original press scramble.
“I never said I would sue anyone! I wish you a very nice day (…) I love you,” she said, continuing with an intense declaration of love to the journalists of the National Assembly. “Full of love, full of love for you, full of compassion!”
In early March, the daily Le Nouvelliste reported that Ms Tardif allegedly insulted a former employee. The Serious Crimes Unit of the Sûreté du Québec in Trois-Rivières had launched an investigation. Ms Tardif was expelled from the CAQ group during the inquiry.
Following this procedure, the authorities decided not to press charges against the elected official, allowing Ms Tardif to return to the CAQ.
“I completely rule out suing Le Nouvelliste or any media outlets,” she finally confirmed.
