At least that’s what Tony Marinaro said during his podcast, The Sick Podcast, on Thursday.
“I have been told that the contract extension will be announced by the end of the season. The final will take place on April 13 against the Boston Bruins. I don’t know when exactly the news will be announced, but by then it will be ready.
TVA sports journalist Marc-André Perreault, who was a guest at Marinaro’s for the occasion, agreed.
“You’re probably right. According to Jeff Gorton, talks are going well and he’s confident of reaching an agreement. When he smiled at me, I knew it was coming.
Caufield is currently in the final year of his entry-level contract.
He scored 26 goals and had 36 points in 46 games before his season ended prematurely through injury.
