First of all, you should know that the Quebec adaptation of survivorlead by Patrice Belangeris only a few days away from its big premiere, which will take place on Sunday.

Remember that Jean-Thomas Jobin, a big fan of the original series, was scheduled to host the analysis show that aired immediately after the new reality show noovo. He was even part of the eight-week shoot in the Philippines.

However, the comedian unexpectedly announced that was no longer the case when he decided to step down as presenter because he “felt he lacked integrity”.

In an honest text, the winner of the first season of Big Brother Celebrities explains that “sometimes think afterwards and do business”. He adds that he felt a sense of impostors when he saw the animation of this analysis program.

He justifies his decision as follows:

“Firstly, because I was there for my position, I know the full course of the season and the order of eliminations. Even though I intended to be transparent and say it right from the start during the first analysis show and DO EVERYTHING not to subconsciously color my analyzes with potential spoilers, I visualized the whole thing and found that it was a bit “wishful thinking”. . I would have had to keep walking on eggshells, each sentence would have been an exercise in “If I say this, will the viewers and my staff try to work out why I’m saying this?” and surely that would have hurt the organic side, so i’m supposed to do the talking. I would have felt like a tightrope walker, constantly afraid of making a mistake.

He adds by explaining how much he has grown accustomed to the candidates after spending no less than two months with them.

“Another not insignificant point: I was part of the casting process, I saw the players for a long time at the different stages of the audition, I accompanied all their journeys, their ups, their downs. I had no contact with them throughout the game, but I followed them with emotion, and for the most part I spoke to them long after they were eliminated to thank them for their generous dedication. I’ve gotten very used to them. It might sound absurd from the outside, but that too would color such animation, which ideally wants to be unbiased.

“I might be too puristic, but unfortunately I feel incompatible with the role of animator. I would have felt that I lacked integrity. I hope you will understand,” he concluded.

Also, the person who will replace him is the one who was almost at the top of the show, Benoit Gagnon. The latter also mentioned to us in a recent interview that not winning that contract broke his heart.

Survivor Quebec starts April 2nd on Noovo.
