Through his Facebook account, David shared a video explaining his participation in the program called “Tercer Grado Deportivo” moderated by journalist Denise Maerker; and welcomed Televisa’s new initiative.

“The decision was easy for me because I find her attractive. It wasn’t easy in the sense that it meant going to a company that we were rivals with and growing up in a school like José Ramón Fernández’s. I have a clear conscience. I’ll do what I have to do, say what I have to say, and if they don’t like what I have to say, I’ll leave. They promised a program with a lot of freedom,” he explained.

Faitelson explained that he liked the proposal as he was told that Denise Maerker would be moderating as she is one of the best journalists in the country.

“I trust Denise Maerker a lot because she is a great journalist. One of the smartest women in the country. The moment they told me she was going to drive she made me very happy. The same goes for the colleagues who will be there,” he commented.

David Faitelson revealed that one of his conditions was that he would be given complete freedom to criticize whatever he wanted, even if it went against Televisa and Club América owner Emilio Azcárraga and his control of the Mexico national team.

“I applaud him and if this is a good opportunity to sow something positive for Mexican football, I hope so. It’s settled. I am not a traitor. I don’t earn a cent from Televisa, I’m not a Televisa employee. I’m a proud contributor to ESPN in the United States and Mexico. I am very happy there and I hope to finish my journalism career with them because I also work with a lot of freedom,” he concluded.

Alongside Faitelson, journalists André Marín, María José González, Alberto Lati, Javier Alarcón and Alejandro de la Rosa will also be on the podium.
