The day before, the number 40 also took part in training, but wore a no-contact jersey.
Forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, meanwhile, was out with treatment after scoring his 14th goal of the season in Thursday night’s 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers.
The Habs are officially out and will host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. He picked up one of four points this season against the leaders of the Metropolitan Division of the National Hockey League.
