Díaz Canel Intervenes in the Regional Summit of Presidents Invader

    president Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, spoke at the Summit of Presidents of Latin America and the Caribbean this Wednesday.

The President advocated facilitating and expanding the exchange of goods, eliminating tariffs and other non-tariff barriers, and resorting to bartering.

According to a post on the social network Twitter by Josefina Vidal, Cuba’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Díaz-Canel called for the promotion of exchanges of basic services and cooperation to increase food production.
Other proposals aimed to use the installed production and industrial capacities to contribute to complementarity between countries, as well as to promote technology transfer for food production.

He suggested addressing maritime and air transport connectivity and extending the summit’s proposals to other countries in the region.

The Cuban President offered the Caribbean nation’s extensive experience in the healthcare sector.

The Summit of the Presidents of Latin America and the Caribbean was convened virtually by Mexico for this Wednesday, April 5th.

The aim of the meeting is to agree on measures to find common solutions and urgently confront high food prices and inflationary pressures on the region’s basic commodity basket, intermediate goods and services.
