Kate Beckinsale sparked concern among fans when she revealed she was suffering from a mysterious illness.
The 49-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday to share a selfie showing off her drip as she revealed it had been a “rough” time for herself.
Adding to her suffering, the Underworld star revealed that her beloved cat Clive was also struggling and had been taken to the vet.
Alongside a series of snaps, the mother-of-one wrote: “Rough week or two for both of us. Thank you to everyone who has loved us throughout.
‘Prayers for my Clive and brighter days ahead x’.

Kate didn’t disclose her own or her cat’s health concerns, but fans were quick to share their support and well wishes.
As one commented, “This is a really poorly executed IV,” Kate explained, “The veins ran out that weren’t infiltrated or ruptured. Nobody is to blame.”

The Critics’ Choice Awards nominee shared a hilarious snap of her cradling her pet cat in a sling, which she captioned, “Is Canada ready for this [sic]’.
Despite the post garnering more than 100,000 likes and praise from her celebrity friends, Kate came under fire from trolls.
When one commented, “You pride yourself on being eccentric, this whole thing smacks of too much effort,” Kate smacked back in reference to her profile picture, “omg it’s too funny you saying that with that hair.”
