China invites Venezuela to join the lunar research base project

Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry confirmed this Saturday that Venezuela was the first country invited by the Chinese government to join Project of the international lunar research station under development, to be built from 2030 onwards. The announcement came as part of the meeting between the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE) and the China National Laboratory for Deep Space Exploration.

This fact is a recognition of the Venezuelan government for its actions in favor of the scientific development of the country. For its part, the Venezuelan Ministry of Science and Technology highlighted that the project of the international lunar research station is supported by China and Russia It envisages the construction of stations with super-heavy launchers in early 2030.

It was also announced that ABAE Executive Director Marglad Bencomo reaffirmed Venezuela’s willingness to accompany China and Russia in the processes of joint research, cooperation and scientific exchange, human talent training and peaceful uses of outer space. The first space cooperation agreement between China and Venezuela was signed 18 years ago.
