Sockets hidden and made inaccessible in the Galeries d’Anjou

If some shopping centers have allowed many victims to warm up but also charge their mobile phones, on Friday this was no longer possible at the Galeries d’Anjou.

It was a netizen who noticed this practice and sent a photo to TVA Nouvelles.

The outlets of the luxury mall in East Montreal were taped down and plants placed in front of them to camouflage them.

We called customer service to ask if it was possible to come in and charge our devices.

“Our customers don’t have access to sockets, that’s the policy,” the operator replied simply. “Thursday was really an exception, there were a lot of people and it was difficult to control,” added the lady when we insisted.

In particular, netizens have reported that people brought all of their devices with them and that one person even used a power strip.

These sockets could therefore no longer be used on Saturday.

Fortunately, a large part of the population of Anjou returned to power three days after the ice storm.

The district was particularly affected by power outages, during which a very large proportion of citizens were without electricity.
