Buckingham Palace revealed new details about King Charles III’s coronation on Sunday. on May 6th, including creating a special Twitter emoji to celebrate the event.
“A new coronation emoji has been unveiled, based on Saint Edward’s crown. It will appear on Twitter,” Buckingham said in a statement on Sunday.
One of the jewels of the British crown, the Crown of Saint Edward is reserved exclusively for the coronation of monarchs today.
This isn’t the first time emojis have been created for royal celebrations. Last June, to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee, an emoji in the shape of a corgi — the sovereign’s favorite dog breed — hit Twitter.
Four weeks before the coronation, the palace has also unveiled the route that King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla will take between Buckingham and Westminster Abbey.
