Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have revealed that they are halfway to their fundraising goal as they raise money for the people of Ukraine.
Kunis, who was born in Ukraine and moved to America shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and Kutcher told followers about the amount of funds raised and how they will be used. The couple’s goal is $30 million.
“We just wanted to give you a quick update on where we are in fundraising. We’re halfway there,” Kunis said in the video. “We are very excited and want to say thank you to each and every one of you. It’s been an incredible last 48 hours.”

Kunis and Kutcher were joined by Ryan Petersen, creator of Flexport, and Brian Chesky, CEO of Airbnb.

They talked about how the collected funds will be distributed.
More than 30,000 people took part in the fundraiser, Kutcher said. Reese Witherspoon commented on the initial fundraising announcement by revealing that she was involved.
“We are halfway there. We have $15 million and we are approaching $30. We’re going to make it happen,” the actor said. “There are some problems in the world that need a village to solve, and there are other problems that need the rest of the world to solve. It’s one of those other problems.”
At the time of this article’s publication, over $16 million has been raised out of a planned $30 million.

Kunis and Kutcher began fundraising on Friday.
“Today I am a proud Ukrainian,” Kunis wrote in a description of the GoFundMe fundraiser. “While my family moved to the United States in 1991, I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983. Ukrainians are proud and courageous people who deserve our help in difficult times. This unjust attack on Ukraine and humanity in general is devastating and destructive. The Ukrainian people need our support.”
Kutcher and Kunis pledged up to $3 million for the fundraiser.

Kunis was born in Ukraine and came to the United States with her family shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack a “special military mission.”
The attack prompted 1.7 million Ukrainians to leave the country.
