Guest Chef: What’s your best appetizer?

The gist is that they are appetizersThe essence is that they are appetizersMònica Escudero

The potato was all the rage in the eighth edition of Invited Comidista. Once the tuberculosis delirium is over, it’s time to focus on the appetizers, which will be the central theme of your recipes in this ninth installment of our culinary competition. With this we want to give the place that belongs to the pecking, the tapita, to the plate that you bring to your guests before they eat to calm their stomachs. They deserve our recognition among all.

As in previous editions, if your recipe is the winner, we will publish the photo and recipe you send us in El Comidista. You can also host a banquet and invite your entire neighborhood with the prize: a spectacular lottery ticket made up of 26 different products from our popular Petra Mora store. This package, worth 186 euros, includes delicacies selected by the company from among the best producers, such as its extra virgin olive oil, its creamy cheese, its candied piquillo peppers or its Rioja Rosalba red wine. And also other food from Petra Mora’s own animal husbandry, such as beef entrecote.

But what do I have to do?

Send us a recipe published in El Comidista with a list of ingredients and step-by-step preparation, as well as at least one photo of an appetizer. Anyone can serve us: with or without toast, with cheese, with just one or three bites, traditional, innovative… whatever your culinary imagination dictates. Although of course it must be original since it is not allowed to copy those that we have previously published in El Comidista. The jury will appreciate the creativity and quality of the attached photos as we will publish them too if you are the chosen one.

How can I participate?

First you must be of legal age. Do you remember the taste of Dalsy? Great, you are older than a forest, you can now send the recipe and photos to the email [email protected] with the subject “Guest Chef Appetizers”. If you wish, you can also participate via Instagram: upload to your profile – via private message NO, please- the picture of the dish with the description of the ingredients and the steps to follow, mention our official account (@elcomidista) and put the hashtag #ComidistaInvitadoAperitivos. Be careful, you must have the public profile during the contest period for us to see the release.

The entry period begins this morning at 08:00 and ends next Monday, April 17, at 23:59 at night. You have almost a week to serve your guests so many appetizers that they don’t even have dessert.

How do I send the prescription?

Just like the ones we publish in El Comidista: with a detailed list of ingredients and exact quantities. Not “like the size of a full-grown Iberian lynx in cumin powder” or “like my neighbor’s rugby ball in coriander”. Please in units, grams, kilos, liters, milliliters, tablespoons or teaspoons.

Likewise, you must formulate the following elaboration as we do: written in the infinitive, with all the steps in the correct order and giving the exact times or moments in the preparation. For example: “1. First, put all the veggies in a saucepan except for the beans – spinach can also be added at the end and just bring to the boil – cover with plenty of cold water, bring to the boil and simmer over low heat for a while for an hour and a half, replacing water if necessary. Etc. The more detailed the description, the more likely your win.

Is photography essential?

Yes, the key is that your publication is the same as the one we receive from the other Comidisters, with recipe and appetizing photos of the dish. If possible, with one size

at least 1800 x 800 pixels (today almost every camera or mobile phone takes higher resolution pictures, so you don’t have to worry about that). If you upload it to Instagram, remember to save the original photo in case we ask you to post it at maximum quality.
