USA: Louisville shooting, 6 dead and at least 8 injured

It rose to six dead and at least eight wounded the victims of the shooting at a bank in Louisville, the capital of the US state of Kentucky. A 57-year-old woman died from her injuries, authorities said.

The attacker, a former employee, also died. It is unclear whether he committed suicide or was shot dead by officers. The police warned that “the investigations still take a long time”. An agent is also among the injured.

Young gunman Connor Sturgeon, 25, “streamed the attack live,” said Louisville Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel. A spokeswoman for Meta said the company was “in contact with law enforcement” and “quickly removed the ‘live stream’ of this tragic event.”

Authorities did not reveal the attacker’s motive, but according to CNN, Sturgeon was just told he would be fired and left a letter for his family saying he would open fire on the bank’s premises.

Two “dear friends” of Kentucky Governor Democrat Andy Beshear were killed in the shooting. He said it himself at a press conference. “It’s terrible,” the governor said with tears in his eyes. “Two of my dear friends didn’t make it. One is in the hospital,” Beshear said, urging everyone to pray for the victims.
