Nicolás Maduro stressed that the people of Venezuela as a whole had fulfilled Chávez’s prophecy on the streets
A huge motley crowd of men and women marched through the streets of Caracas this Thursday to celebrate the popular victory of April 13, 2002, which in Venezuela is considered the Day of Salvation of National Dignity.
In front of hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans, workers, students, youth, the armed forces and the people, from the Miraflores Palace, seat of government, President Nicolás Maduro commemorated the historic days led by the people, highlighting his courage and bravery.
He denounced that the April 11, 12 and 13 coup d’état was prepared, planned, carried out and financed by US imperialism against the start of a democratic, peaceful and Bolivarian revolution.
The President explained that this victory was born of conscience, passion and love, in which the people in the streets by the millions responded to the call of their own conscience and, in union with the armed forces, knew how to get out of the coup intended to move into to consolidate Venezuela.
Maduro pointed out that the opposition right ignored the warnings of commander Hugo Chávez (1954-2013) when he kept telling them dare not there is a people and an army that will teach them a lesson and wants to go with them crush his strength.

Regarding the opposition, the ruler pointed out that part of them continue to collude, cheat and live off corruption and theft of assets abroad, and now intend to wash their faces and disguise themselves as democrats to join the to run for the upcoming presidential elections.
Maduro urged people to expose the coup plotters wherever they are and come forward, calling to prepare to continue defeating them year after year.
The President explained that a first major task is to counter “the evil effects of imperialist sanctions” and bring Venezuela forward with brilliance and continued growth.
Another, he claimed, has to do with morals and ethics, because it’s true that they block and sanction us, but they also have us with corruption, the emergence of mafias who have stolen the people’s wealth and the “stabbings stabbed back by traitors in the land.” .
There must be justice against all mafias, Maduro noted, assuring that there will be no coexistence with complicity: “I swear to the people of Venezuela that there will be all penalties,” he added.
