But 92-year-old William Shatner will don his astronaut suit when he’s set to host a new reality show called Stars On Mars, which is being filmed in Australia.
The red dust of the Australian desert is said to mimic a Martian landscape in the competition-style reality show, which will see celebrities see what it’s like to be an astronaut on Mars.
Despite recently saying he “doesn’t have much longer to live”, the Star Trek legend will once again return to our screens to host the US reality series, which will see Hollywood stars in the “Martian” colony in Alice Springs will survive.
Shatner will once again bring forth something of Captain James T Kirk as he will task Mission Control’s celebrities with various space-related challenges while aiming to be the last “Cebronaut”.

The cast will be mostly American, with The Daily Telegraph reporting that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna is one of the first stars to be booked.
The I’m A Celebrity-esque reality show is slated to air June 5 on Fox in the US.
Allison Wallach, director of Fox’s unscripted programming, said in a statement that the concept was “so far-fetched” that she knew it belonged to the network.

She added: “Seeing celebrities take giant leaps out of their comfort zones and step into the unexpected will no doubt be truly transformative and hilarious.”
“We’re going to learn a lot about these stars over time, and when you factor in William Shatner as head of Mission Control, we have the makings of a show that’s ready to take off.”

However, the Hollywood star has recently opened up about the “little time” he has left on this earth, which is why he released a documentary about his life titled You Can Call Me Bill last month.
Speaking to Variety, he said: “I’ve turned down a lot of offers to do documentaries. But I don’t have much longer to live.
“Whether I pass out while I’m speaking to you or in 10 years, my time is limited, so that’s a very important factor. I have grandchildren. This documentary is a way to reach out after my death.
The actor is father to daughters Leslie, Lisabeth and Melanie from three previous marriages and grandfather to five children.
