After conquering stages, digital platforms and the hearts of fans around the world, Karol added a new accomplishment to her career as an artist: she was the special guest on “Saturday Night Live”, one of the most-watched programs on American television, on April 15th.
The show, directed by Cuban actress Ana de Armas, showed Karol G in a comic facet, but also critical and bright. In addition to interpreting some of her musical hits, the Colombian shone for her authenticity, starring in some moments that did not go unnoticed but became relevant to Latin American audiences.
With nothing but a yellow background, a flower in her hair and a white outfit with cutouts, the Paisa singer performed ‘Mientras me curo del cora’, a song from her fourth album, ‘Mañana ser bonito’, it was the first in Spanish by a female artist to top the Billboard charts.

Of course, this performance was directly connected to the episode in which the singer starred for GQ magazine a few weeks ago. On her social networks, the artist spoke about the cover, which was published on April 6th.
“Today the cover of my ‘GQ’ magazine was released, a cover with a picture that doesn’t represent me. My face doesn’t look like it, my body doesn’t look like it and I feel very happy and comfortable with how I look naturally,” the ‘Provence’ hitmaker said.
Although she appreciated the opportunity to star in an issue of the magazine at the time, she made it clear that she did not agree with the retouching they had done to the photo and not only branded it as “disrespect” towards her, but also for all women who try to face the clichés of society every day.
