Amazon’s AWS says it’s investigating login issues

April 16 (Portal) – Amazon.com’s (AMZN.O) cloud services division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), said on Sunday that its services have recovered from an issue where AWS users are using the Could not complete the sign-up process and received error messages from their billing console.

AWS billing console helps manage ongoing payments and payment methods registered with AWS accounts.

“The sign-in page has recovered and customers can now access and complete the account sign-up,” AWS said in its status.

Hundreds of users reported problems accessing Amazon Web Services on Sunday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Downdetector tracks failures by aggregating status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted bugs on its platform.

Separately, according to Downdetector.com, Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa was also down for thousands of users in the United States. More than 16,000 users reported problems with Alexa at the height of the disruption, which later dropped to 700, data from Downdetector showed.

Users also reported problems accessing Amazon’s mobile app.
