A pregnant woman is in stable condition after she was shot by a Walgreens employee in Nashville after an altercation with an employee on Wednesday night.
The employee is said to have shot the client in the seventh month of pregnancy.
She was reportedly injured eight times in the abdomen and both legs and subsequently required three surgeries to survive her injuries.
The 24-year-old also reportedly had an emergency c-section. The baby, who was not injured by the shots, is also in a “critical but stable” situation.
According to the police report drawn up after the incident, a 21-year-old shift supervisor from Walgreens was informed that two guests were attempting to flee with an array of merchandise.
The woman and her pal were reportedly spotted stuffing items from the store into her personal bag, only to head for the exit and avoid the registers.

The team leader, who followed the two women into the parking lot, was then sprayed with a canister containing a mace. Not knowing if the two women were armed, he said he didn’t want to take any chances and pointed a semi-automatic weapon at them.
The shoplifters then fled in their vehicle.
The clerk returned to the store to call 9-1-1.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) Homicide Unit is still investigating the shooting.
