He throws $200,000 out of his car window and is arrested by the police

According to CNN, a man was arrested Tuesday for throwing $200,000 in cash out of his car window.

According to the Oregon State Police in the United States, multiple calls were made to report that $100 bills had been seen on Highway 5, nearly 125 miles from Portland.

Several drivers reportedly left their vehicles to collect tickets, witnesses said.

Colin Davis McCarthy, 38, is in charge of ticket sales. The driver estimated the sum thrown out the window at $200,000 and allegedly made the gesture to “offer the money” to anyone crossing the street. The money would come from the family bank account.

Officers asked Mr McCarthy to stop because “he posed a significant traffic hazard,” the statement said. He agreed to quit.

No charges were brought against him.

“Motorists thoroughly collected the money as officers could not find other tickets after the incident,” police said in the statement.

Police urged citizens to “resist the temptation to look for money along the freeway.”
