FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE
American journalist Evan Gershkovich appeared smiling and resolute before a Moscow court, where the media saw him for the first time since his arrest in late March. After allegations of espionage, which the Wall Street Journal reporter categorically denies, the court must decide whether or not he remains in custody until May 29.
The authorities did not allow questions and the rest of the hearing will take place behind closed doors. However, the chances that the court will rule in favor of the journalist are almost nil.

PUTIN AT KHERSON
According to the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin traveled to the Kherson region of southern Ukraine to meet the soldiers stationed there as part of the Russian operation that began more than a year ago. “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation visited the headquarters of the ‘Dnieper’ military group,” the Kremlin said in a statement, without specifying when the trip took place.

THE G7 IS THREATENED
G7 foreign ministers on Tuesday pledged that countries supporting Russia for its war in Ukraine would pay “a heavy price,” in a statement released after a meeting in Japan.
The senior diplomats also want to step up the application of the sanctions already imposed on Russia and considered Moscow’s announcement that it would send nuclear weapons to Belarus “unacceptable”.
