The Chicago Police Department said the violent incident took place at a drugstore at 641 North Clark Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, when a man in his 40s spotted a scammer stealing items from shelves.

When the Good Samaritan tried to intervene and turned to the thief, the man flew into a rage, took out a sharp object and, according to police, stabbed the victim several times in the legs, face and neck.
