CW Gotham Knights pilot to play Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara

The CW’s Gotham Knights pilot has selected Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara as regulars, Variety has learned.

Smythe and DiChiara are the first announced casting calls for a pilot series based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. The one-hour drama takes place after the murder of Bruce Wayne. His rebellious adopted son forms an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for the murder of the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this gang of misfit renegades must fight to clear their name. But in Gotham, where there is no dark knight to protect him, the city becomes the most dangerous it has ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places, as this team of disparate fugitives will become the next generation of saviors known as the Knights of Gotham.

Smythe plays Harper Row. Described as street-smart, snarky and often underestimated, the blue-haired bisexual is a gifted engineer who can fix just about anything. But more than anything, Harper wants to repair the broken lives of her and her brother Cullen, the only person she trusts.

DiChiara plays Cullen Rowe. After years of hiding his true self from an abusive parent, a transgender teenager is tired of being polite and nice. Smart and adept at reading human nature, Cullen is willing to fight his own battles.

Smythe made her screen debut in the web series SCREECH followed by a recurring role on the Disney Channel series I Didn’t Do It. She then starred in the Nickelodeon miniseries Lost in the West and appeared on the Freeform series Growing Up during that show’s first season. Smythe is also a singer and model, working on campaigns for brands such as Lucky Jeans and Aeropostale.

It is represented by AEFH, Foundation Media Partners and Myman Greenspan.

DiChiara made his screen debut playing Kai, a trans man, in the indie film Smak in 2019. He last appeared in The Virgin of Highland Park, directed by Sonia Sebastian.

He is represented by Innovative Artists and Maui X Productions.

Gotham Knights comes from Batwoman writers Natalie Abrams, James Stothero and Chad Faivash. Stothero and Fiveash are executive producers on Gotham Knights, with Abrams co-executive producer. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden of Berlanti Productions will also serve as executive producers. Danny Cannon will direct and executive produce the pilot. Warner Bros. Television is a studio. Gotham Knights is not a Batwoman spin-off and is not related to the upcoming Gotham Knights video game.
