Carol Alt steals the Cannes red carpet as she proves RAW FOOD has kept her young looks

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover veteran Carol Alt made quite an impression while in France this week at the Cannes Film Festival.

The leggy model, who rose to fame in the pages of Vogue magazine in the 1980s, proved that she’s still in great shape.

The 62-year-old actress was tall and slender at several events to support her new film, starring Denise Richards and Robert Davi, titled Paper Empire.

The beauty has told in the past that she looks so youthful because she sticks to a raw food diet.

And the New York-based best-selling author of books like A Healthy You is also committed to consistent exercise routines.

Alt opted for a mocha latte beige off-the-shoulder bodycon dress with a midi finish and long sleeves. She added pointy black heels with straps.

The star pulled her dark hair to one side as she had soft curls. Her lips were glossy pink. Alt smiled as she sat on the edge of a balcony with a view of the coast at her back.

Carol has spoken about her diet on her website.

“I find it amazing that after so many years of lecturing on raw food and teaching about nutrition, people are still confused about what to eat. Let’s start with the basics: if you give the body what it needs – the building blocks, clean building blocks – it can do almost anything. It can prevent disease, it can alleviate disease, it can counteract aging; It can also self-sufficiently prevent flu, colds, sinus infections, and headaches. I know all this firsthand,” she said,

“People always say that as you get older, physical things get worse: that the body starts to break down. Well, 17 years ago I was worse off than I am today. I’ve dealt with so many petty little health issues: constant sinus infections, constant sore throat, bloating, brittle hair and nails, horrible indigestion (acid reflux). And today I don’t have any of those problems.

“17 years ago I was living on Afrin, Tums and Tylenol to name a few of the over the counter medications I wouldn’t leave home without. I’m not taking any today. When people ask me how I did it, all I say is that I changed my diet. If I say I’ve gone raw, then I lose her. They get all nervous and frustrated and tell me they can’t be as disciplined as I am.

“The amazing thing about switching to raw food was that I was able to eat more, never felt hungry, never felt sick, and always had energy. And today raw is everywhere! Once you know what to look for, you’ll be shocked at how readily available, delicious, and healing it is.

“A lot of people are eating raw vegan (not eating any animal products at all – this includes fish, honey, dairy, etc.). I am not a vegan raw foodist. I eat fish, i.e. tartare and carpaccio. I eat meat, ie carpaccio and tartare. I also eat stir-fried food—cooked on the outside but raw on the inside. Because I preach to eat 75-95% raw.”

Two years ago, health expert Alt first spoke about her experience of sexual harassment when she sat down with Bill McCuddy for a chat on the Accutron Show podcast.

The bombshell revealed that she experienced a lot of harassment in the 1980s. She was hit on by old men who wanted to lure her into photo shoots. And she had to bring counselors to hotel meetings with film producers.

Carol also missed out on starring in an Aaron Spelling TV show — he made Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place — because the casting director dumped her for a woman he had fallen in love with.

Alt was open as she sat where she unleashed her past. “There were a lot of not nice people,” said the former Lancome model.

“I’d been stopped many times on the street, I was 18, and they said OH MY GOD you look like a model, and they offered me shoots, they asked me to come right to their studio with them,” he said she. I knew even as a teenager that the men holding her were most likely with bad intentions.

“The best advice my agency ever gave me was to have the person call us. If they’re real, they call and you get the job. If they’re not real, they’ll never call.’

When asked about the Hollywood casting couch, the actress – who has worked on dozens of films including Howard Stern’s Private Parts – said: “I’ve always been smart because if the agency would send you to a producers’ meeting early in the morning, I’d always bring a friend standing in front of the door.

“Funnily enough, I auditioned for Steven Spielberg in a hotel room, but there were people there and I knew it was legit.

“You have to protect yourself and somehow let them know and say my boyfriend is out can they come in you’re doing it innocently.

“I lost jobs because they knew I wasn’t that guy,” said she, who directed a film with Eric Roberts last week. She shot it in a NYC building with a mask on the crew.

She said she’s earned a reputation for being a smart cookie. “I think you get back what you sent out.”

Then there was that time she got lost on a big TV show because the casting director dumped her for a woman he wanted to bed with.

“I got hired on an Aaron Spelling show and my manager called me and asked if you know this guy? It was a casting person and I was like yeah it’s my boyfriend and they said he took the job away from me.

‘And I know why he took it away. He said the girl he hired for the show he dated her.

But even here there was no happy ending for the casting director.

“Sometimes the tables turn,” she said. “She got the job and left the guy.”

But she also reminded listeners that Me Too is very serious.

‘It’s very sensitive – I don’t want to belittle it – for a woman to be seriously assaulted, no laughing matter. I don’t know what I would do if that happened to me and I marvel at the strength of some of these women who stand up and carry on and have a voice.

“I just find that every single movement also has gray areas, the whites, the blacks, the grays – we all live in one of those zones.”

When asked where the next supermodel will come from, she said she doesn’t know

“It’s gone from blonde to Kardashian and shades in between, which is spectacular, there are so many women in it now,” she said, sounding pleased.

“Every girl is so much more beautiful and they know how to put themselves together at a younger age.

“There always seems to be the namesake girl of every generation. Each generation had the top two or three girls who were the people of the day.

“The last really well-known models are Giseles and Kate Mosses and then it gets very obscure and there’s nobody to really name right now because they’re all influencers,” she says, without acknowledging Kendall Jenner and the Hadid sisters.

She was discovered working as a waitress in Long Island. “I modeled during the day and came home at night to be a waitress.”

Then this guy came into the restaurant and told me to model, I was 18 and I was tired of not getting tips as a hostess, so I started being a waitress, it was a big deal for me.

“I said no thanks and my boyfriend broke up with me and I didn’t want to be the little girl he left on Long Island. So I got into modeling. This guy Burt Rockfield gave me the names of agencies like Elite.

She called around and landed an agent.

“I made $200 my first day as a model, I was like, OK, that’s a lot better,” she said. “I was waiting for a military scholarship and I worked mostly during the summers…after I was on the cover of Vogue and the restaurant owners told me to quit my job as a waitress.

“But I was worried because I come and go modeling.”

“I got the scholarship and then John Casablanca said if you can’t BUY a university until I make you famous, then I will pay for your scholarship!”

At 18, she became the youngest model for Lancome.

The star said she rose to fame when Sports Illustrated put her name on the magazine’s cover. Cover Girl picked them up and also used her name.

Alt also spoke about eating raw; It started in 1996.

“Let me put the myths to bed, I’ll steal the Victoria’s Secret slogan, ‘I’m not an angel! at a hockey game that I eat popcorn. You must live and shock the system.”

When told she looks amazing, she said, “It works.”

She said many people exercise but still age and turn gray because they don’t eat right. One of her buddies went from gray to tan because of her food choices.
