Ranking: Brazil emerges as the second worst driving country in the world Multiverso Notícias

There isn’t a Brazilian who hasn’t heard of the big jams in the chaotic traffic of São Paulo. It’s fair to say that this happens because São Paulo is one of the largest cities in the world and ranks as the fifth largest in many lists.

Given the size of the world and the number of cities, to say that São Paulo is in the top five is a lot indeed. Unfortunately, the immense size of São Paulo is not the cause of such a traffic jam.

Because in Brazil, many other cities that don’t even reach the size of the metropolis still have hours of traffic jams. These and other reasons led to Brazil being placed second in an international ranking of the worst countries.

This ranking was produced by Compare The Market website, which used as data: the road fatality rate, the cost of car maintenance relative to income, the quality of the roads and the congestion of cities.

All of this data was collected by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

List of worst countries to go to

The data showed that the country performs poorly in almost all measured factors, losing to Russia, which takes first place in only two factors. They’re road quality and congestion, but Brazil’s numbers aren’t much lower than Russia’s.

In terms of road quality, Brazil scores 3.1, Russia 2.9. And when it comes to urban congestion, Russia is at 37% and Brazil at 28%.

In other words, it’s enough for things to get a little worse in Brazil or a little better in Russia, and soon our country will be ranked as the worst place in the world.

Below you can check part of the list with the five worst countries and right after that the five best countries, all referring to the ranking made by Compare The Market.
