Belatedly presenting their new kits for the 2023 season, CF Montreal gave their fans a small preview by unveiling their special Earth Day kit on Wednesday.
Designed by Adidas, the jersey will be worn during Saturday’s game against New York Red Bulls at Stade Saputo. It’s made from plastic that’s been fished from the sea and recycled through a Major League Soccer (MLS) initiative.
The Quebec team’s jersey is black with stylized blue waves. The CF Montreal logo appears in teal and messages such as “End Plastic Waste” and “Recycle” have been added.
With just one win in seven MLS games in 2023, the Bleu-Blanc-Noir will be looking to capitalize on the momentum they gained in the Canadian Championship round of 16 on Tuesday when they beat the Vaughan Azzurri 2-0 of his supporters .
