Price, spec sheet… Google’s Pixel Tablet unveiled ahead of its official launch

The Google I/O, scheduled for May 10th, should be rich in announcements as the company will be showcasing many products there. Among them, the highly anticipated Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, the brand’s first foldable smartphone. But the California giant will also be launching a tablet, marking its big comeback in a market that has been gaining momentum in recent years.

There are already many rumors circulating about this Pixel tablet. The journalist Roland Quandt commented on his Twitter account. According to him, the tablet will be available in two versions, 128 and 256 GB, and in three colors: Porcelain White, Mist Gray and Green. However, we don’t know if a MicroSD port is planned to increase storage space. He estimates that it could cost between €600 and €650.

A price that remains affordable compared to the competition with the Samsung or Apple stamp. The 10th generation iPad, which is Apple’s entry-level offering, starts at €589. The much more efficient Air and Pro models see their prices go up.

For its part, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 starts at a price of 769 euros in the 128 GB version and 819 euros in the 256 GB version, the Ultra model with its extraordinary dimensions starts at 1,219 euros.

A balanced technical sheet

Google therefore intends to make it a more accessible product, but without falling into the first prizes. Google’s 9to5 website agrees with Roland Quandt, saying it will come with an LCD screen and a Tensor G2 chip (similar to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro) coupled with 8GB of RAM. A UWB chip would also be in play, as well as a button for confidentiality.

Two POGO-type pins should allow it to be attached to a docking station (sold separately) that will replace the Nest Hub and charge it while it acts as a speaker.

The site mentions availability from June, but it’s not yet known if a Wifi + 5G version is planned. There are only a few weeks left to discover the Pixel Tablet from all angles.
