A final week for Gildor Roy on La tour

A final week for Gildor Roy on “La tour” – Le Journal de Montréal

Gildor Roy would like to have the adventure of Tower will continue next fall because he had “a lot of fun” on the set with his “neighbors” Hélène Bourgeois Leclerc and Alexandre Barrette, as well as with the many guests he had received at his home since last September.

After only a year in his “condo” bought by Patrick Huard, the friendly big man has to pack his bags and leave for another project. Note that in 40 years of career Gildor Roy has gotten used to the cycles that mark both the beginning and the end of his engagements, except that in the case of The Tower he didn’t expect TVA to “set in” at all. The topic.

“It’s fun to meet people, chat with them, learn economics, there’s no better job in the world, but hey, I understand the circumstances,” he told QMI agency.

“I think in the package of cuts that he has at TVA, they had to choose to cut shows that are more expensive than others. And there’s the fact that television is changing. People record Indefensible, STAT and a whole bunch of other stuff and at some point they have to listen to those shows. It’s fun to have multiple platforms and stuff, but it cannibalizes itself. But it’s okay, I get it, I don’t blame anyone.

After six years on the set of District 31 in the skin of Commander Chiasson, Gildor Roy saw The Tower as an opportunity to “reset” and reconnect with interviews.

“I was on my way to stardom, I really would have kept going,” he said, adding that The Tower allowed him to reconnect with a lot of personalities he hadn’t met in a while.

A final week beginning with Ginette Reno

For his last week in La Tour, this Monday Gildor Roy welcomes the great Ginette Reno, who has released her autobiography Ginette and the album It’s all me. “She shouldn’t be singing, but there’s a piano, and when Christian Marc Gendron sat down at the piano, Ginette gave us quite a show!”

On Tuesday it will be Patrice L’Écuyer, Mélanie Maynard and Mike Ward’s turn to dine at Gildor, before Chantal Machabée and Pierre-Yves Lord on Wednesday.

Finally, Alexandre Barrette and Hélène Bourgeois Leclerc will stand alongside Gildor in the grand finale on Thursday. “I know I’m going to sing in the finals, I know something’s going to happen that hasn’t happened in three years, it’s going to be exciting for the viewers. There will certainly be guests, but my guests as such will be Alexandre and Hélène because we never bothered to really talk, just us. I’ll tell them what I think of them!” (laughs)

Several projects on his agenda

At the end of the summer, Gildor Roy will be shooting a film, then his agent is negotiating his participation in a TV series to be filmed in the fall. He cannot talk about the two projects for the time being. He also wants to take advantage of the relief in his schedule to take part in shows like La belle tour, on TVA, and to devote himself to music, a passion that has never left him.

“I feel privileged because the phone started ringing the day after the end of La tour was announced,” said the artist, who will celebrate his 63rd birthday on May 11.

Gildor would love to star in a project filled with horror and suspense, even playing a drag queen. “I’m supposed to play a drag queen and tell stories to kids! (laughs),” mentioned the one who dressed up as a “big beefy redhead” in Karmina 2.

Produced by Trio Orange, La Tour begins its final week on TVA this Monday at 7:30pm.
