Maria Menounos, 44, and husband Keven Undergaro, 55, announce they are expecting a girl – two months after announcing they are expanding the family
Maria Menounos and her husband Keven Undergaro have announced the gender of their child.
The couple announced on Maria’s Heal Squad x Maria Menounos podcast that they are expecting a girl.
“We’re having a girl! We are so excited to announce that we are having a baby girl,” Maria gushed.
“Little Gertrude,” her husband joked.
While Maria insisted they not name her daughter Gertrude, she revealed they had already chosen a name.

“We picked a name,” she said. ‘We’ve been thinking about names for years because as you may or may not know this has been a nearly 10 year journey for us so we’ve been thinking about names for ages and I think we found the perfect name.’
However, the name is not set in stone.
“I reserve the right to see them and make last minute decisions,” she added.
The couple also had a display of pink balloons and a matching elephant that she bought for her daughter from the studio.
Maria shared a video of her announcement on her Instagram with the caption: “A girl!!!! We are beyond excited! We read baby books, work on the nursery and overall prepare for this beautiful new addition to our lives. She is already so loved and we can’t wait to meet her. And her name isn’t Gertrude. Lol any guesses on her name? Any great suggestions?’
Maria and her husband announced their baby news back in February, revealing they would be expanding their family with the help of a surrogate.
They started IVF in 2012 but it didn’t last so they turned to surrogacy a few years ago and after a hiccup they are confident of becoming parents this year.
“After a decade of trying, we are so grateful to the wonderful family who helped us conceive our baby,” she told People in February. “Keven, my dad and I are so excited to have this soul enter our lives. What a blessing.’
She also shared that her longtime friend Kim Kardashian — who welcomed two children via surrogate — helped her understand the process.

The couple started considering surrogacy in 2018 after IVF didn’t work for them.
Maria then took advice from her Kardashian, who welcomed Chicago and Psalm via surrogacy with her then-husband Kayne West.
Sister Khloe also used a surrogate to welcome a son with Tristan Thompson.
“I was grateful to have her to share and to help me with,” Menounos said of Kim, 42. “She was just so kind and so amazing and so patient with us,” added the One Tree Hill newspaper. -Star added.
After surrogacy didn’t work out in 2021, Maria and Keven tried again, and it was successful, she said.
