Dog dance! Adorable moment Archie the spaniel copies his owner’s salsa steps

  • Ballet dancer Trevor Miller, 57, teaches the jazz moves to Archie the spaniel.
  • The 10-month-old spaniel loves to dance at home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
  • Archie was filmed as Mr. Miller took the stage to David Benoist’s “Life Is Like Samba”.
  • The dog then copied the daily routine into a video filmed by Mr. Miller’s 54-year-old wife, Linda.

This is a cute moment when an excited spaniel danced with his owner, imitating his jazz moves.

Linda Miller and her 57-year-old husband Trevor play vinyl and dance every Friday night at home in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

On Feb. 11, their spurter spaniel Archie seemed keen to join Mr. Miller’s moves, so Linda, 54, filmed the dog tapping its paws on the vinyl floor.

In the footage, the excited 10-month-old spaniel, gazing at the tennis ball at Mr Miller’s feet, becomes increasingly agitated as his owner takes a few quick steps to David Benoist’s “Life is like Samba.”

Archie waited patiently for his turn before repeating the exercise, hopping from side to side, wagging his tail and picking the floor to the beat of the music.

At the end of the video, Mr. Miller gave the ball to an enthusiastic dog – a cross between a springer and a cocker spaniel – who greedily caught it in its mouth.

Mrs. Miller said: “Archie loves our musical nights and usually just watches his dad dance. However, this particular night was purely spontaneous, unplanned or edited.

“Archie blew us away with his jazzy dance etiquette where you wait for your opponent to finish and then try to out-dance him.

“It was absolutely amazing and so unreal to watch. He was madly in love with it.

Watching... Archie is watching Mr. Miller closely, studying his movements. And dance! The moment it's his turn to shine, Archie jumps into action.

Archie keeps a close eye on the dance moves of the owner, Mr. Miller, before he finds himself in the spotlight.

“We have an extensive collection of vinyl records from all genres of music, so every Friday night we love to spin vinyl and dance.

“Trevor has a long dance history. He left his hometown of Bolton in 1984 to attend the Urdang Academy in Covent Garden to study ballet.

“After graduating summa cum laude in Russian ballet, he joined Brothers In Jazz, the cult leader of bebop jazz in the UK.

“They have had a great influence in Japan and have a lot of followers. Trevor and I were together in the 80s before he left to continue his dancing career in London.

“Then, 30 years later, we met again and have been happily married since 2013.”
