Sergio Hondjakoff, cabeção from the teen soap opera Malhação, has been reflecting on drug addiction following his release from a rehabilitation clinic last Sunday, the 30th.

“I smoked on my days off [maconha], don’t go out to exercise. I became very depressed, sleepy, sleepy, while drinking coffee I got acquainted with cocaine. I was 15 years old, I was doing a play,” he said in an interview with Fofocalizando.

According to him, he first started using drugs at the age of 13 and the problem with addiction worsened after his fame. “When I started doing malhação, I started having a little money, every three months I used cocaine, my mother found out. When I took it for the third time, she noticed, as did my father. They were very sad. It was an escape from reality,” he said.

“What happened was I had to memorize a lot of scenes, I didn’t have time to go to a psychiatrist so the quickest way to motivate myself was to do drugs,” he revealed.

The actor then apologized to fans and family members who have followed his career from the beginning. “I want to tell them not to worry about me, I’ll be fine, everything will be fine from now on,” he said.

“I want to apologize to evangelicals who remember me with a nostalgic memory. I apologize for bringing such a heavy subject into my picture.
