We only see a very small part of the life of the contestants in a reality show. And often the crucial moments for them are not shown on the screen.
This is the case with the difficult beginning of the adventure for Édouard on the island of love, for which we have only seen fire.
“I was physically ill. I had stomach pains, I had no appetite, I couldn’t sleep. It’s difficult to focus on a game of seduction when you’ve got nothing on your stomach and no energy,” he says.
He adds: “Besides the physical bad feeling, I was really not feeling well mentally, very scared of the adventure and my physical condition, but the production was A1, it took care of me. . I was quickly put through to a doctor. She [la production] gave us everything we needed. We really were treated to onions. And quickly she put me back on the hook. The islanders were also there for me when things weren’t going so well. »
Another difficult moment for Édouard in the adventure was the arrival of Cédric and the game “Cup of Tea”, in which the islanders had to answer questions written on tea bags.
“Looks like it was slap after slap. All the cards I took were just to turn the knife in the wound. And it ended up with Cédric going to get Bianca’s pillow, it was too much. It was really an emotionally difficult evening. In life I’m not jealous and that’s when I discovered a little jealous side. »
It also underscores Cédric’s clumsy side in the situation. “He had words that tore me up a bit when he said, ‘I really hope you find a bomb you like,’ as if he ended up here and that Bianca became his girlfriend. It bothered me a little, I felt it lacked delicacy. »
Edouard hasn’t had a chance to see the episodes yet but says he’s excited, especially the confessionals. “I can’t wait to see what was said there. I don’t feel I lacked honesty, but some details may have been left out so I could make the right decisions for me. I can’t wait to see all of this and to step back from my situation and have the necessary conversations when the time comes. »
The 23-year-old bartender hasn’t quite given up on his romance with Bianca. “She’s a girl I could develop feelings for as I get to know her better. There my elimination ended my relationship with her, in Quebec it remains to be seen if it will be more friendship or if it could be more serious. At the moment I don’t expect that we will cross the bridge when we reach the river. »
