There was a party on the streets of Newark near the Prudential Center on Monday night.
Hundreds of New Jersey Devils fans loudly celebrated their seven-game win over the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs.

The revelers also took the opportunity to poke fun at Blueshirts fans and sang the legendary Big Apple Club song. Several videos posted on social media showed the crowd chanting “Slapshot,” the musical tune played by Rangers when they score.

It’s quite ironic considering the New York team was knocked out 4-0 in the final game of the series.
The Devils now face the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round of the playoffs. The first game will be played at the PNC Arena on Wednesday night. The confrontation will be presented on TVA Sports.
