Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill expected his team to draft a wide receiver earlier in the last NFL auction.

He said so in a press conference on Wednesday.
The Titans selected six players over the seven rounds of the 2023 draft, all playing on offense. The club got their hands on a receiver, but only in their last round.
“You haven’t asked my opinion on the decisions to be made,” Tannehill said. You know it’s Mike [Vrabel, l’entraîneur-chef] and ran [Carthon, le directeur général] who make the decisions.”
“It’s a need that could have been addressed, but they just did it a little later than I expected. However, we have added other players in key positions.
Currently, the Titans rely on the services of receivers such as Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Kyle Philips. Let’s say nicely that the talent isn’t overflowing in this group.
“We look at who we have and that’s it,” said Tannehill. We will have to compete against each other every day and we will see which of them will attract the most attention. Some will have to work twice as hard as other positions.
Also, the Titans drafted quarterback Will Lewis with their second-round pick. This is the second straight year the organization has used one of their picks to find a pivot, they picking Malik Willis in the third round in 2022.
“We’ve been there before, it’s deja vu,” Tannehill said of the affair. But like I said, Mike and Ran make those decisions. My job is to be on the pitch and try to win football games.
