May 4th was a date fans of singer Lizzo had been waiting for for several months when she was due to be at the Bell Center in Montreal. About an hour before the start of the concert, ticket holders were informed by email that the artist could not attend the show for health reasons, so it was canceled and should be postponed to a later date.
The artist behind the hit “About Damn Time” also shared an apology video on her Instagram account, in which she gives more details about her situation in English: “I had a sore throat and a headache last night and went to bed. I woke up this morning and it was worse, my body is weak and I have chills, my headache. Usually if it’s just a cold I shower, eat and take medicine, it gets better but it gets worse. […] I have to make the unfortunate decision today to cancel. »
While telling the public in Montreal that she wants to get back on her feet, several fans commented on the post to wish her a speedy recovery in English.

However, some shared their displeasure with the late announcement when a large number of people were already on their way or about to arrive at the Bell Center:
“Wow… Pretty last minute let’s say… Pocket for those who have hit the road and booked a hotel room… But hey, buying show tickets is always a gamble. »
“We were literally standing in front of the Bell Center when we got the email… Luckily we don’t live that far,” added one person.

Under Evenko’s post on her Facebook page, which was also shared on the Bell Center’s Facebook page, other fans are wondering why the show wasn’t rescheduled earlier in the day:
“Lizzo posted a video saying she’s sick… Boring for people who have been out or traveled for nothing, it’s true it’s last minute, she says she wasn’t feeling this morning…”
“I’ve just arrived in Montreal and I’m going to Saint-Jean with my little luck. Seems to warn me earlier,” commented one user.

Others are more of the opinion that people should remember that she is human while this is a situation out of her or the event organizers’ control:
“With the comments to read in this publication, Lizzo can refund your ticket and bye. I drove two hours, I paid for parking, I… The girl is ill, she may be emptying at both ends and you should have been notified yesterday or two days ago?! ? A little heart and compassion…”
“It’s nothing new to see. It sucks, but artists are people too. When her doctor says, “You can’t sing,” you follow his advice. Or if it’s a member of the band, it won’t be replaced like that,” someone replied.
As of this writing, Evenko and the Bell Center have yet to share the new date for Lizzo’s show in Montreal, but those who bought a ticket can keep it as it’s valid for the following night.
