British Ambassador to Brasília Stephanie AlQaq published this Friday (5th) a photo of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and First Lady Janja da Silva greeted by King Charles III. were welcomed by England during a dinner at Buckingham Palace. AlQaq said that the greeting was a testament to the king’s affection for Brazil and Brazilians.
Lula and Janja, along with other foreign delegations, were invited to dinner at the British monarchy’s residence. This Saturday (6th) they will attend the coronation of Charles III.
“His Majesty received President @LulaOficial and @JanjaLula at Buckingham Palace today. A testament to the King’s immense affection for Brazil and Brazilians,” the ambassador wrote on Twitter.

Also on the social network, Lula said that he spoke with Charles and with leaders of other countries.
“End the day in England. Now at night I attended the reception on the eve of the coronation, where I met King Charles III. and heads of state from Germany, Israel, Ireland, South Korea and other countries spoke. Tomorrow in London, I will be attending #coronationceremonies,” wrote the President.
At the meeting, Sunak announced the donation of approximately R$500 million to the Amazon Fund. The meeting between Lula and the Prime Minister lasted about 40 minutes.

The coronation of Charles III. takes place amid royal controversy
The coronation of Charles III. and Queen Camilla takes place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday morning from 10am. The ceremony will be conducted by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the leading official of the Church of England.
After the ceremony, Lula will attend a reserved meeting at the King’s invitation, along with other heads of state who will be in London for the celebrations.
The federal government sees President Lula’s trip to the United Kingdom as part of the revitalization of Brazil’s diplomatic relations since the president took office in January.
Since taking office, Lula has visited Argentina, Uruguay, the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal and Spain, and has met with several world leaders in Brazil and abroad.
