The historic coronation of King Charles III. begins May 6th at 10am BST in the UK at 5am ET/2am PT in the US. All major UK and US broadcasters will have live coverage of the event which you can watch live in the embedded player below.
THE TRAVEL PLAN
Charles and Queen Camilla take part in a royal procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey for the first coronation in seven decades. There will then be a service at which the official coronation will take place, beginning around 10:20 GMT (2:20 PT).
King Charles III is officially crowned and his wife Camilla becomes Queen Camilla during the ceremony. King Charles technically became king after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in September, but the coronation – the first in Britain since 1953 – will make it official. Camilla has been Queen Consort since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but will just be called Queen Camilla from this weekend.
Later, the newly crowned King and Queen will greet the crowd from the balcony of Buckingham Palace for six minutes while dozens of military planes fly by. Crowds are expected to line the streets of central London for a glimpse of the largest military ceremonial operation in seven decades, while street parties are planned across Britain. A Coronation Concert will be held live on the BBC the following day, while Monday is a public holiday in the UK.
WHO WILL BE THERE
Tom Cruise, Tom Jones and Joan Collins have been added to plans for the King’s coronation concert and will pre-record messages for the BBC extravaganza. Meanwhile, new Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa will perform excerpts from an unannounced Shakespeare play and there will be performances from Amanda Holden, Motsi Mabuse, Rose Ayling-Ellis and Gareth Malone, along with a special performance from Winnie the Pooh , The Paddington Follows Bear Anniversary Surprise.

Meanwhile, The Windsors – Coronation Special (pictured) will see Harry Enfield reprise his comedy role as King Charles, whose whole life has built up to this moment, and who wants Britain’s first coronation in 70 years to be a spectacular affair will, as will his Queen Consort Camilla (Haydn Gwynne). Finally, Frankie Boyle’s farewell to the monarchy will highlight the royal family in a tongue-in-cheek, irreverent style by looking back at the 1,000-year-old institution. All shows air throughout the week.
